Charity Golf Tournament

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif., May 2010 – Vistas for Children, Inc., a distinguished and respected philanthropic organization composed of women volunteers from the South Bay, raised almost $55,000 at its annual spring charity golf tournament. The tournament was held on Monday, May 3rd at Palos Verdes Country Club.  Proceeds will benefit Vistas’ philanthropies.

The annual Vistas golf tournament, led by chairwomen Phyllis Czesak, Margo Goldsboro and Amy Ricci, was an all-day affair with live and silent auctions, cocktail reception, and an awards dinner.  Additionally, Vistas added a Monaco style casino in keeping with this year’s theme of “James Bond”.

1st Place Winners of the tournament were Robert Nagelhout, Tom Kazamek and Scott Nutter.  The 2nd Place team consisted of Tom Ricci, Charles Smith, Bob Goodwin, and Bob Belucci.  Taking 3rd place was the team of Richard McLennan, Bill Messori, Rudi Linke and Mark Fitzpatrick.

“Vistas would not be able to help support the many children who desperately need our assistance if not for all our sponsors and guests giving generously to our cause.  This event raised money beyond our expectations and we are thankful to the community for their support,” said Helaine Lopes, Vistas President.

Since its inception in 1978, Vistas for Children has unconditionally committed itself to helping children with a myriad of needs including those who are multi-disabled, abused, homeless and terminally ill.  In selecting children’s programs and institutions to support, Vistas is very conscientious and has touched the lives of over 25,000 children and disbursed over $6 million to benefit children with special needs to date.

Philanthropies funded this year by Vistas include: Boys and Girls Club of the South Bay, The Center for the Partially Sighted, Cheer for Children, The Children’s Clinic, Community’s Child, The Friendship Circle, The Gathering Place, Harbor Interfaith Services, Institute for Families, Providence LCM, Pediatric Therapy Network, Rainbow Services, Richstone Family Center, Ride to Fly, Thelma McMillen Center, TrinityCare Hospice, A Window Between Worlds
