FOURTH ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT AT
PVCC
PALOS VERDES ESTATES,
Calif., February, 2006 - Vistas
for Children, Inc., a distinguished and
respected philanthropic organization, will
hold its fourth annual golf tournament on
Monday, May 1, 2006. This popular event
will be held at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
All proceeds from the golf tournament
will benefit Vistas’ philanthropies.
Led by Chairwomen Karen Melideo, Cheryl
Robertshaw and Patti Severa, the all-day
event will begin with a shotgun start at
11:30 a.m. A full day of golf, silent and
live auction, lunch, cocktail reception
with an awards dinner to follow.
“The Vistas golf tournament is an
enjoyable event that attract golfers from
our community as well as from all over California,”
says Vistas President Nadine Bohit. “The
event will raise much-needed funds that
will touch the lives of special needs children
and their families. This year we changed
our tournament date to May to ensure better
weather and again anticipate a sold-out
event.”
Since 1978, Vistas has contributed more
than five million dollars to local institutions.
Comprised of women dedicated to improving
the lives of children and women in need,
Vistas raised a record $125,000 at its fall
fashion show at the Beverly Hills Hotel
in November. All proceeds from the golf
tournament will benefit Vistas' philanthropies
such as the Center for the Partially Sighted,
Harbor Interfaith Services, the Jester and
Pharley Phund, the Little Company of Mary
Health Care Foundation and the Switzer Center
among many others.
The mission of Vistas is to raise funds
to help special needs children and to be
a system of support for these children and
their families. These include children who
are multi-disabled, abused, homeless, terminally
ill, suffering from the AIDS virus, and
born with retinoblastoma or cancer of the
eye.
